About

Have you ever considered if you're addicted to your phone? When bedrotting becomes your only m.o., or crossing the street almost ends in a trip to the hospital? screen (mad scenes) explores the impact of presence through a ritual digital purge perfect for Halloween.

We start with a service industry reality check—the mind-numbing, repetitive hell that's all too easy to escape through your screen. recursion traps a barista in purgatorial customer service, surrounded by entitled patrons who can't believe you’re out of buns.

Then comes a new staging of Peter Maxwell Davies' 8 Songs for a Mad King—but forget theater etiquette. We want you glued to your screen, commenting/liking/disliking the madness unfolding before you. Watch as your digital engagement torments the very performer you're consuming.

Finally, total digital rejection: Lucia's Mad Scene from Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor. No screens, no distractions, no lights—just a woman's elaborate destructive coloratura up close and personal.

The whole thing makes you question technology, performance, and what it means to actually be present.

Join us. Your screen time report will thank you.
